The rescue diver course is an outstanding step in deepening your diving knowledge and experience, as it teaches you how to perform safe dives, while keeping the safety and security of others as the most important consideration.
Therefore, the rescue diver qualification is an essential foundation for all professional diving training.
Although the knowledge gained during the training prepares you to handle serious situations, the course is still enjoyable and strengthens your self-confidence.
The following conditions are required to participate in the course:
- At least a beginner diver qualification
- Age 15+
- Certificate of EFR (First Aid) course, which you can also complete with us if you do not already have a valid certificate
Structure of the training
The course starts with theoretical instruction, followed by 5 open water dives where you practice 12 different rescue skills related to the most common emergencies. During the course, you will also need to pass a theoretical exam and perform water exercises.
What do you learn in the course?
During the theoretical part, you will learn about stress management, emergency prevention, self- and peer-rescue techniques, while during the in-water practice, you will learn how to respond correctly to simulated emergencies.
The Rescue Diver course aims to prevent and manage accidents. It provides training to ensure not only your own safety and that of your diving partner, but also to make diving safer for others.
The course duration is approximately 25 hours, which includes 2 open water sessions.

- Self-rescue and diver stress management
- Diving first aid, emergency management, and equipment knowledge
- Rescuing by swimming and not by swimming
- How to treat a panicked diver
- Solving underwater problems
- Finding a lost diver
- Returning an unconscious diver
- CPR in water
- Safe ways to exit the water
- First aid for pressure-related accidents
- Different diving accident scenarios
