The Open Water Diver (OWD) certification is a comprehensive entry-level qualification for divers, earned by successfully completing the course. This internationally recognized certification is required at all diving sites. With the OWD certification, you are authorized to dive to a maximum depth of 18 meters.
Almost anyone in good health, with basic water safety skills, and aged 12 or older can obtain this certification. It serves as the foundation for all further diving training. (Divers between the ages of 12 and 15 will receive a Junior Open Water Diver certification.)
When can I start the course?
The course starts with theoretical training in e-learning format, so you can start at any time and progress at your own pace.

Course structure
Part One – Theoretical Training
You will learn the basic diving skills, terms and information needed for safe diving. This is a very exciting, useful and important part. The theory is in e-learning format, so you can progress at your own pace.
Part Two – Protected Water Dives
In the pool, under the supervision of an instructor, you will develop your diving skills and prepare for open water dives. Here you will do various exercises and get a taste of the exciting world of diving in a very safe environment. This part consists of two sessions, the dates of which you will agree with the instructor. The pool practice takes place in small groups.
Part Three – Open Water Dives
After the protected water exercises, the open water sessions follow. Here you will encounter similar tasks as in the protected water, but here you can also expect smiling moments while the wonderful fish swim around you.
You can do open water dives and exams in Hungary from spring to autumn, or during diving trips ABROAD!
